Non-prime-time—day time—ice remains available throughout the winter season. Ice times also become available at Christmas and March, in and around the minor hockey schedule.
Eight adult hockey groups utilize the indoor ice. Among them are the Oakridge Oldtimers, who provide a valuable volunteer base for the Oakridge Community Association. Members from the Oldtimers build and maintain the outdoor ice surfaces, facilitate community bingos raising money for the Association and host the annual Stampede Breakfast.
In the spring, the arena is used for lacrosse, primarily by the Calgary District Lacrosse Association.
Ice is available throughout August for hockey schools and conditioning camps.
The Oakridge Community Association builds an outdoor ice surface each winter—a shinny rink with boards and lighting. The outdoor rink is made possible through the volunteer efforts of the Oakridge Oldtimers Hockey team.
