Winter break schedule of events announced for community centre
The Oakridge Community Centre will be hosting a series of activities over the Winter Break to keep kids occupied and parents sane.
The activity schedule runs Mondays through Fridays from Monday, Dec. 20th through to Monday, January, 3rd. There is no activity on Friday, Dec. 24th and the deadline to register is Thursday, Dec. 16th at 6 p.m.
Children will need to bring a mask, lunch, snacks, a water bottle, and indoor shoes or slippers. Children need to be dropped off no later than 10 a.m. each day. Attempts will be made each day to go outside, so children are advised to dress for the weather.
Registration for Winter Learn to Skate Program opens Jan. 3rd
Two eight-week Learn-to-Skate programs start in mid-January, with registration opening on Jan. 3rd. The programs are for three- to six-year-olds.
Pricing for OCA members is $40 per child and $50 per child for non-OCA members.
Oakridge Parent and Tot Playgroup
Parents and their children are invited to join a new playgroup that takes place every Thursday morning from 9 to 11 a.m.
The group is held in the upper level of the Oakridge Community Centre. Parents are asked to bring their own snack, water bottle, and face masks.
Proof of vaccination and picture ID is required and you need to ensure you have a current Oakridge Community Association membership prior to attending.

Regular Children’s Programs
Three children’s programs make their home in the Oakridge Community Centre: the Before & After School Care Program and Winter Break and Spring Break Camps – both community-run, as well as the privately owned and operated Tools for Kids Preschool.
In addition, over the summer months, the Community Centre, through the Oakridge Racquet Club, provides Kids Tennis Programs and Kids Tennis Summer Camps.
Dance Compound classes start Sept. 13th
Join Calgary’s newest dance community! The Dance Compound is excited to offer select classes at the Oakridge Community Centre, starting on Sept. 13th.
Join us for an 8-week session in either our Junior Ballet & Jazz Combo (ages 5-7 yrs) or Youth Hip Hop (ages 8-10 yrs) classes on Thursday evenings. All proper safety protocols and cleaning is a priority for the safety of your dancer.
