Getting a Handle on Technology

Technology opens the possibilities for connection, learning and fulfilling basic needs.

We can help seniors use the internet, connect to social programs via Zoom, and more!

We can also help you obtain a computer, tablet, or internet connection.

OSA Membership has its Privileges

An OSA Membership is required to participate in programs. Fees have been waived for 2020 ($10 per person). Members enjoy reduced fees for face-to-face events (gradually returning) and will be eligible for future local business discounts.

– Recommendations for Preferred Service Providers coming soon.

– Please visit SignUp on our webpage (above) to keep YOU in touch with all we have to offer.

Oakridge Community Garden (OCG) – Ready to Grow

OSA is a proud participant in the new OCG, behind the Community Centre. See the OSA website and OCA and FB Oakridge Community Garden sites for details.

Activities and Programs

Check our website regularly for virtual Zoom activities and proposed face-to-face activities. Past programs included Pickleball, Art, French, TaiChi, Spanish, Bridge, Men’s Coffee Group, Women’s Movie Group, Pole Walking, Oakridge Community Garden, Feel Good Fridays and more. Plans are underway for more post-Covid virtual and face-to-face events and programs.

OSA Cooks

Covid19 upset plans to set up an OSA Cooks program. But we still plan a post-Covid program for interested members to prepare small meals together to take home and freeze.

Feeling the Pulse of OSA Members & Oakridge Residents

OSA is evaluating needs and ways to serve Oakridge seniors following phone surveys and a postcard drop in May. Detailed research is planned for late summer/early Fall, which is critical to developing our plan for a successful multi-generational Oakridge Village.
