Summer is in full bloom (and leaf) at Oakridge Community Garden!

And now it’s almost time for the annual OCG Open Garden event. Garden Tours will take place periodically, throughout the event.

Check out the Demonstration tables for great ways to use the fruit and veggies grown right in the garden.

At 1:00 pm, Joan Williams will speak. Joan is a professional botanist and will soon publish “Resource Guide to Creating Habitat for Native Plants and Insects (Zone 3)”. She will be sharing her wealth of knowledge in her 2-part talk entitled “Gardening Through a Botanist’s Eye” and “Building Resilience in Urban Landscapes”.

Beautiful and delicious cookie art by Krista Kienitz of Simply Sweet will be available for purchase at Open Garden. These amazing garden-themed treats are the 2023 OCG fundraiser in support of future garden projects and maintenance. Please bring cash for your purchases.

Local Oakridge food and beverage businesses will be in attendance to satisfy your hunger and thirst. Participants include The Apple Lady Store, Firestone Pizzeria, Masala Art Indian Restaurant, Jetana Concession. (Cash ensures your purchase payment, but other methods of payment may be available.)
